EXPERIENCED
LEADERSHIP
WORKING FOR US
Mental Health of our Students:
I believe there are many things threatening the mental health of young people today. One of those threats is social media. I support the plan Bishop Unified is working on to control the usage of cell phones during the school day. I believe this is an important step to support the mental health of our students.
Karen cares about school safety for everyone.
Many of our building at Bishop Unified School District are having difficulties because they have not been updated in 50 years! The High School still has boilers and many roofs leak. The plumbing is very old. Let us come together as a community and pass Measures R and S!

MY
VISION
"The best way to predict the future is to create it"
My name is Karen Keehn. I am a third generation educator. Education has been the focus of almost my entire life. I taught in Southern California for 4 years, and 33 years in Bishop. Since retiring, I have been a volunteer art teacher at the elementary school for the last 11 years, volunteering in up to 20 classes a year. In addition to my time at school, I am also a founding member of Playhouse 395, our local theater company.
I attended California State University at Long Beach where I received my teaching credential and graduated with honors with a major in Psychology.
I have been a resident of the Owens Valley for 46 years. Arriving as a newlywed, I began teaching in Bishop in 1979 at Bishop Elementary School. My husband taught and coached at the high school, and our three children all attended Bishop Schools K – 12.
I am seeking your vote for the BUSD School Board because I believe in public education. In these often turbulent times, I believe that my decades of experience in the educational field will give me the experience to represent students, teachers, and parents in a positive way to help keep our schools on a steady path.
